A Bedroom Fit For A King, Lancashire

A Bedroom Fit For A King, Lancashire

This master suit was an incredible transformation! From start to finish I couldn’t wait to start helping my client make this new house a home for his family.

For this master bedroom I added vertical wooden room dividers that help to section the huge room into more manageable spaces with different purposes. I then reflected these on the far wall to draw your eye through the whole room. They are positioned perfectly to still allow the light to flood in but adds a sense of style and creativity to the room. My joiner did the most amazing job and the craftsmanship was perfect.

As the flooring runs throughout the house we decided to keep this and instead used bespoke rugs to soften the wooden floorboards. I matched the navy blue of the headboard to border this cream soft palette and sourced a rug from Firth to add an abstract design to the other end of the room.

The headboard and bed base were designed by myself and made from scratch by our amazing joiner and upholsterer, I used a stunning navy velvet to upholster it and used smoked glass mirrors either side to add a modern twist and bounce light around.

I then added this quirky chaise at the bottom of the bed which we designed from scratch and upholstered in a cream boucle by Casamance. It looks super stylish and is certainly a talking point in the room!

We papered all the walls in a neutral textured paper by Tektura. This allowed the room to stay light while still adding interest to the vast walls.

There was no expense spared when it came to the window dressings. We chose a beautiful cream linen fabric by Romo, and added a ribbon border down the leading edges and also down the Roman blind that complement the scheme and picked out the navy throughout. I decided to make them with a wave heading to look more modern and sit perfectly in their pleats. As always my sewer interlined them and added blackout lining. We hung them on a graphite metropole with clear acrylic draw rods to help the customer open and close them avoiding any dirty marks on the curtains and making sure they will last a lifetime.

We installed side lights either side of the bed from RV Astley which my amazing electrician made them work individually of each other, and then hung this stunning black and gold light fitting above the bed for Morri Designs. I added a final picture light over the bespoke artwork we designed and and had made to complement the scheme.

I then filled the room by choosing furniture that was both functional and stylish, with gold hardware to match the decor, added these stunning oversized planters, bespoke made artwork, family photos and accessories to finish the room!

This master bedroom is timeless and I love it!!
